Entering grades: 10-12
Get ready for a 4-day, 3-night voyage on a 50-foot houseboat! You’ll explore remote islands and sandy beaches on the biggest river in North America. After beaching your boat, join your houseboat crew for swimming, games, and amazing conversations about life and faith. Houseboat campers stay overnight at Camp Shalom on Sunday and Thursday, but the bulk of their week is spent soaking up on the sun on the Mississippi River.
Many Houseboat campers bring along a book to read if they feel like chilling out, or a favorite board game to play while the houseboat is traveling. If you enjoy fishing, bring your gear. Many times we will meet up with another camp and share time with them.
When you return to camp on Thursday, you will integrate back into the camp community and get ready for some all-camp games. Friday you will have time for an activity, worship with the Outpost and get ready for the Showcase and Closing Worship later in the afternoon.
Houseboat Adventure will be offered two weeks this summer and we often have a waitlist. We encourage you to register early if you want take this adventure.
