Tom Bley
Executive Director
Tom is the Executive Director of Camp Shalom.
Previously, he was Camp Shalom board member and a long-time Camp Shalom volunteer.
Active in the community, he serves as a member of the HDC board, volunteers at a food pantry, and is a member of St Paul Lutheran Church.
Tom also participates in CEW.
In his free time, he enjoys golf, riding his motorcycle and enjoying time with family and friends.

Benjamin Carlson
Operations Director
God first brought Ben to Camp Shalom eleven years ago as a middle school camper for a winter retreat, and he has been back to camp every year since in some capacity. In high school, he served as an assistant counselor twice, and after his freshman year of college, he was hired to be a counselor. Following two summers as a counselor, he spent three years as the Outpost Director. In December 2014 he graduated from the University of Iowa (Go Hawks!) with a B.A. In history and a secondary teaching license. Camp Shalom is happy to be able to have him continue serving as Program Director.

Dwayne
Maintenance Director
Dwayne joined the Camp Shalom staff on a full-time basis in January of 2005. His responsibilities include the coordination, supervision and implementation of the camp's maintenance plan. Dwayne enjoys the outdoors and the Christian mission of Camp Shalom. He and his wife live next door to camp, and have 3 adult children.
Natalie
Program Director
Natalie has been coming to Camp Shalom since she was an Outpost camper. After being an Assistant Counselor for a summer, she came back to be on summer staff as ropes team, a counselor, mini coordinator, and wore many different hats throughout the four years. In the fall of 2023, Natalie joined full time as our Program Director and she cannot wait to share the joy that Camp Shalom brings with the campers, staff, and families.
