ACTIVITIES
We offer a wide variety of activities at Camp Shalom, including traditional camp favorites like canoeing, archery, arts & crafts, and nature as well as a bevy of off-the-wall games of our own design, such as Bonkers and Escape from the Planet of the Apes. All our activities are designed to exhilarate, challenge, and reward everyone who chooses to participate.
We practice the "your challenge, your choice" philosophy at Camp Shalom. We encourage everyone to challenge themselves and participate to their level of comfort and ability, but we do not force anyone to join in.
None of our campers will get to do all the activities we offer in one week at Camp Shalom, but this is by design. Some activities require a certain level of fitness and resilience; younger campers, for instance, typically are not physically mature enough to conquer the rock wall. Our program also progresses so campers experience something new each time they return.
NEW THIS YEAR: We are excited to introduce our new Adventures activity block! On arrival day, every full-week camper will choose from the following Adventures: Nature, Arts & Crafts, Launch!, and Sports. For one hour a day three times each week campers will split from their cabin groups to participate in their Adventure alongside other campers with similar interests, led by our staff. Adventures is designed to provide more opportunities for campers to do the things they're most excited about!
