Charis (khar’-ece) is a Greek word meaning Grace, the loving-kindness God gives to all creation. This house was renovated in 2005 to provide Camp Shalom with a lodging resource more appropriate for adults. It has five sleeping areas. Each sleeping area has access to its own bathroom and shower area. The living room area has a fireplace and windows looking out into the woods. The building also has a very large deck that is ideal for daytime meetings and evening star watching.
The Charis House also has a residential style kitchen that allows groups to provide their own food service. However, food service can be catered and served by the Camp Shalom staff in this same building.
Eight heated cabins are nestled in the woods surrounding the shower house. They are conveniently located to the Program Center where all meals are served. These cabins are perfect for youth groups. Two of the cabins – Mulberry and Walnut – are larger cabins that can sleep up to 12 people. The other six cabins – Cherry, Maple, Oak, Elm, Aspen, Hickory – sleep up to 10 people. These six cabins share a common design.
The larger cabins come with three separate sleeping areas that can be curtained off for privacy. All the cabins offer warmth, comfort and cleanliness and come with bunk beds and mattresses. No linen service is provided. Each cabin is heated for cool nights, but groups may open the side panels for hotter days.

The Outpost cabins are modified tree houses. Placed in the midst of our tree farm they are designed to blend with the environment. These elevated cabins offer a peaceful night sleep for up to 10 people. Each cabin has 6 single beds and 2 bunk beds. The screened side walls make this an ideal cabin for summer sleeping. Fall and Spring groups may also rent these cabins.
Bathrooms, dining and meeting space is located in the Outpost Pavilion. This area also provides shelter for rainy day activities and a fireplace for evening camp fires. The pavilion does have electricity.
Camp Shalom offers space for groups interested in tent camping. Groups are responsible for bringing their own tent and gear. Shower and restroom facilities are available on site.
