Tom Bley is serving as the full-time interim director of Camp Shalom. Previously, he has been a business owner and long-term Camp Shalom volunteer. Tom is an active community volunteer and avid golfer. He is married to Jody and they have three children, Cole, Samantha, and Taylor.

Rachel Evans

This is the face connected to the voice you hear when calling the Camp Shalom office. Rachel handles all camper registrations, donations, retreat bookings and answers any questions you might have about camp. Rachel, a Valparaiso University graduate, was once a camper and summer staff member at Camp Shalom.

Maggie Atkinson

Maggie joined the Shalom staff in the fall of 2008. A former camper, Maggie worked on our summer staff throughout college. Following her graduation from Wartburg College , she served as a Youth Director for Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, IA. Maggie has experience in organizing and leading youth groups and working with people of all ages. She lives on site at camp with her husband Jason, their dog Sadie, and is the person who greets you when you arrive at camp.

Dwayne Heinrich

Dwayne joined the Camp Shalom staff on a full-time basis in January of 2005. His responsibilities include the coordination, supervision and implementation of the camp’s maintenance plan. Dwayne enjoys the outdoors and the Christian mission of Camp Shalom. He and his wife, Becky, live next door to camp with their three children, Crystal, Joshua and Elizabeth.

Rose Rowan

During the school year Rose cooks and bakes for the Maquoketa school system. In the summer she joins our staff to help provide great food and a warm smile. Rose also is the person who works with the volunteer cooks.
